Religious Childcare Programs Destroyed in New Biden Plan

It’s clear that there is something for everyone in the more than 2,000 pages of the $1.8 trillion Build Back Better spending package.

However, there is one group that will not benefit from the Build Back Better grants if the bill passes: religiously affiliated child care facilities.

The New York Times reports that lobbyists try to get Congress to remove a clause from Build Back Better, which would prohibit religious preschools from receiving their share from the huge funds.

The Bipartisan Policy Centre estimates that 53% of children in daycare or preschool enroll in religious-affiliated programs. This shows the problem: despite all the promises made by the Biden administration to parents of childcare kids, more than half of them won’t be able to take advantage of the benefits.

According to the NYT, Sen. Joe Manchin (D.W.Va.), is reliable. However, House Democrats are not so sure. While Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) wants to include faith-based childcare centers in the legislation, House Democrats want to exclude “any organization which discriminates.”

Both the legislative chambers have Democrats at odds over whether or not to include religious centers. The fight also highlights another conflict between religious liberty laws and anti-discrimination legislation. Many Democrats would choose to squash religious liberty rather than offending or excluding a smaller minority.

This provision was addressed by Dr. Albert Mohler (president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary) on Wednesday’s podcast. He said that the left’s attempt to block religious schools from federal funding is part of the “moral revolution.

Mohler claims that this is intentional and something the left wanted for a long time. He is correct.

The left has made the LGBTQ agenda sacred and they have increased its efforts to promote it through culture, higher education, and K-12 schools. They want to make sure that their sexual agenda is pushed to American preschoolers by using the power and purse strings provided by the federal government.

They will limit First Amendment-protected religious liberty if they get in the way of this agenda. This is why Build Back Better must not be allowed to continue.
